The year 2025 is very special for us at the CWJF GROUP (organizer of the contest) , as we will be celebrating 40 years since our foundation, maintaining our uninterrupted activities throughout all these years, focused mainly on supporting, encouraging and promoting the CW. We also have the CQMM DX CONTEST, which will hold its 15th edition this year.

We have an ambitious goal to achieve ( set in 2010 to be achieved by 2025 ), which is to try to receive 2,500 LOGs from participants this year. If this objective is achieved, we will consolidate ourselves as the 5th largest CW contest in the world. A dream that is very close to becoming a reality.

Through this message, we would like to congratulate and thank all the contest participants who sent their LOGs and are located in 123 different countries. This year, 2,015 LOGs were received.

We are very pleased with the worldwide growth that the CQMM DX CONTEST has achieved with each new edition. And all of you who have already participated in our contest one or more times are certainly the reason for our great success. And if you who are reading this message have never participated in our contest, we would like to deserve the honor of your first participation this year, in this great worldwide CW party, which traditionally takes place on the third weekend of April.

The CQMM DX CONTEST continues its trajectory of overcome several world and continental records each year. The 2024 results that we have just released show that 21 new records were achieved, with 5 new world records and 16 new continental records. All 6 continents had records surpass.

In 2024, out of a total of 379,321 contacts made between all contest participants ( based on the total logs received ), a total of 359,311 contacts were validated, which means that 94.7% of the QSOs made were scored ( a similar average also achieved in 2023 ). You will find more details about the contest on our new page, under the RECORDS and STATISTICS links.

Among the stations that were world champions in 2024, we would like to congratulate once again this incredible team of operators from the LZ5R station, participants in the MO / AB / HP category, who won first place in the world for the fourth consecutive time ( 2021 / 2022 / 2023 / 2024 ) and also the 5 stations that obtained new world records, which is always the highest point of a dispute that can be achieved by a participant, being: 9A7T / K1LZ / FY5KE / PY2EX / DL8DYL, the latter being a station (YL) that for the second consecutive year won in the YL category. We would also like to highlight 9 stations that had notable participation ( 5 stations were world champions ), through their expressive results, namely:

9A7T ( Oprs: 9A2EU – 9A5MR ) : this station achieved the world record in the MO / AB / LP category and also surpassed the continental record (EU) that had already belonged to this same station since 2021, with an incredible growth percentage of 165% more points compared to the previous record.

DL8DYL ( YL – Irina ) : it surpassed again the previous world record among YL stations (which already belonged to it), by another 11% of the points and also surpassed the barrier of 1.7 million points and was the second station in Germany (out of a total of 175 stations with logs sent), with the most points obtained.

FY5KE ( Op: Laurent – F6FVY ) : in addition to achieving a new world record, now in the SO / SB / 10M / HP category, with a percentage increase of 55% more points compared to the previous record, he also managed to surpass the oldest world record in the contest, which was obtained in 2014 and belonged to the station PW2D ( currently SM2U ).

JA6GCE ( Op: Nobuo ) : surpassed the continental record (AS) in the SO / AB / QRP category with an increase of 83.4% more points compared to the previous record and with an increase of 62% more contacts compared to the previous record.

K1LZ ( Opr: Krassy ) : in addition to achieving a new world record, this station also surpassed the continental record (NA) in the SO / AB / HP category with a percentage increase of 58% more points compared to the previous record. This is the second station to surpass the 4 million points mark in the contest and the first in the above category.

KP3J ( Opr: Jose Diaz ) : This station achieved a new continental record (NA) in the SO / SB / 10M / LP category with a percentage increase of 209% more points than the previous record and, compared to all the other stations that achieved new continental records, this was the one that achieved the highest percentage increase in points.

LU2DD ( Oprs: LU2DD – LU5DF – LW2DO ) : This station surpassed the continental record (SA) in the MO / AB / LP category, which was held by the ZW8T station since 2018, with a percentage increase of 44% more points than the previous record.

LZ4TX ( Opr: Todor ): set a new continental record in the SO / SB / 10M / HP category, with a percentage increase of 71% more points compared to the previous record and also surpassed the oldest record in this category in Europe, which belonged to station R7AB since 2015. He now holds the 2 continental records in this category ( HP and LP ).

YC3GEM ( Opr: Terry ) : surpassed the continental record ( OC ) in the SO / SB / 10M / LP category that belonged to station YB1HR, with a growth of 192% more compared to the previous record, demonstrating the potential for growth in points that exists among the participating stations, especially from this continent.

Following the release of the results of the CQMM DX CONTEST / 2024, we would like to inform you that the 2 oldest continental records belong to stations RK9JWV ( category: MO / AB / HP ) and YB1ALL ( category: SO / SB / 10M / HP ), both obtained in 2012.

Regarding the oldest world records of the CQMM DX CONTEST, now all of them were obtained after 2020.

A great joy that we would like to highlight this year was to have confirmation ( logs received ), for the third consecutive year, of the growth in the participation of YL stations. In 2022 there were 26, in 2023 there were 28 and in 2024 there were 30 logs received.

NOTE : The Organizing Committee of the CQMM DX CONTEST informs that the station D1M is not a valid callsign, as this prefix is not recognized by the list of valid countries for the DXCC (which are counted as multipliers in our contest), therefore all contacts (QSOs) made with this station were invalidated.

We would like to thank you once again, with each new publication of the results, for the importance of the growing support that we continue to receive from radio amateurs, clubs and groups in our country and also from several other countries spread across 6 different continents. Without this valuable support, we may not have come this far, nor achieved these successes that are repeated every year.
